5 ways to prioritise Self-Love

Self-Love for 2022.
"Imagine that you love yourself just the way you are. You love your body just the way it is and you love your emotions just the way they are. You know that you are perfect just as you are", Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements.
This can be your reality if it's not already. And if it is, practising Self-Love never ends.
Here are five simple ways to prioritise self-love in your everyday life for real transformation.
1. Prioritise self-care
This year is YOU first. If you don't take a minimum care of yourself, how can you take care of others, of what you need to do, and have a clear mind? Take time for your mind, body and to nourish your spirit.
- Try this relaxing facial massage
- Follow a 5-minutes guided-meditation
- Start a new podcast
- Cook your favorite dish
- NEVER feel guilty to take care of yourself, even if it's just doing nothing
2. Positive self-talk
Be impeccable with your words, stop the negative self-talk and gossip, a great lesson from Don Miguel Ruiz. You are amazing, say it and think it. YOU ARE AMAZING, WORTHY, BEAUTIFUL and this year YOU ARE GOING TO DO YOUR ABSOLUTE BEST!
- Practice Ho'oponopono
3. Focus on the things you love
Make a list of the top 5 things that bring you happiness. It can be anything, hobbies, people, events... anything that bring you great joy and sparks love in a sustainable and healthy way! Once this done, plan out days to do them. Allow yourself to make these things that will contribute to a balanced, grounded and happy life.
This is an example of my personal list:
- Plan activities with my daughter that strengthen our complicity
- Call a family member each day of the week
- Explore a new beach or a new coastal area
- Practice 30 minutes of self-healing each day
- Making ceramics at home while watching a French TV true-crime documentary
4. Be well surrounded
Maybe it's time to say bye-bye to people who are around you for the wrong reasons. Surround yourself with people that make you laugh, who love you and support you no matter what.
Take a moment to think what type of relationships you want and don't want anymore, and you will naturally detach and take distance from people who drain you. Having healthy and respectful relationships.
5. Be present and patient
Practicing self-love won't transform your life overnight but consistency and time will help to cultivate a new and healthy mindset towards self-worth and growth. Be present each day, do your best - no more, no less - and be proud of the small victories.
